3:41a.m. Friday morning report of smoke coming from the Cash Express building beside the downtown BP station. Unit on scene told the others to get there as soon as possible that it was Bushes smoking. I didn’t think the ‘Bushes’ smoked? Humm, learn something new everyday.

Been MIA again with doc appointments, testing, etc. There were several EMS runs yesterday. A couple of them ’signal 9′, one to an elderly lady on O2 that they said ran out of oxygen and was having extreme difficulty breathing. I believe I heard them said that it had been turned off?

The news reported last night that the man severely beaten a couple nights ago here in Rowan, died and they showed pic’s and gave names of those arrested for murder.

A call to the 400 block of Heritage Place.

A call to H.Hall Road across from Tower Road on Dry Creek to a patient that fell out of their wheelchair again.

There were several wrecks, from fender benders to those having to be transported and cars towed.

If anyone has anything written down, please share it. So much went on but I just couldn’t get it down.

Also, cops have really been haulin’ in the nuts for everything from expired tags, no license, DUI’s, drugs, etc. They’ve got a bumper crop so far, then again, it’s the first of the month isn’t it?

Around 7:55p.m. EMS called to Boodry Place. Female unresponsive and hadn’t been heard from in several days. Shortly after someone went on scene they said to cancel all responding and contact 900(coroner).

Early this morning a male fell from a ladder while trying to hand shudders.

8:10p.m. EMS called non-emergency to the 1000 block of Little Perry to a male running a temp and BP is high.

At 8:16p.m. Units were toned out to a possible head-on collision on I-64 near the 124 mile marker, which would make it in Bath County. Bath said they had not received any calls. Caller said it looked really bad. One unit ask that PHI chopper be asked to stand-by if needed. PHI just said at 8:25p.m. that they were available if needed and were going to check the weather. It really is a blessing to have a medical chopper when needed in these parts. There are so many accidents, such as farming, logging, etc., and they are so far back in the woods, etc. At 8:27p.m. Unit said that they are passing Moore’s Ferry and have found nothing. Suppose to be in the eastbound lane. At 8:29p.m. unit said they were all the way to Salt Lick and it was unfounded and to cancel PHI. KSP went all the way to the 129 and found nothing. Can’t they track prank calls?

Earlier today there was a 10-45 in front of NAPA/Family Dollar Store area. Firetruck was called out briefly because the one car was smoking.

2:43a.m. EMS called out to Rock Fork Road to a male laying in the middle of road. When units got on scene he was not hurt and denied being ran over. He just ‘dozed off’. I think I’d found a better place to take a snooze.

A few dukes and daisy mae’s lodged in the pokey on various outstanding warrants, drug paraphernalia marijuana possession, narcotics not in proper container, etc.

Around 1:40p.m. EMS was called to the VA clinic to a 70+ y/o male with shoulder pain.

Cops called to a home burglary alarm on N. Tolliver. Owner was advised by the alarm company and everything was found to be secure.

It’s currently 9:52p.m. and about 5 minutes ago, someone was trying to contact 900 (Coroner), but he said he’s get back with them as he was busy on a call.

9:54p.m. City and State cops stopped a car just feet from me on McBrayer Road.

10:04p.m. EMS responding to the 100 block of Wells Lane to a 67 y/o male having chest pain, has taken 3 nitro’s without relief.

10:08p.m. another dopey in the pokey. No tags, expired this that and the other. Earlier one was taken in for just about every thing you could be booked with drug wise.

10:11p.m. Rite-Aid parking lot cleared.

Just an ‘little’ FYI, I wouldn’t be FLYING by Clearfield School if I were you right now, there is a smokey with his lights off just a waitin’ fer ya. Time now 10:12p.m.

Around 11:27p.m. Dispatch ask cops to check out a possible dead animal in a dumpster on Main Street. They found a dead goat. ????? Just wondering how this happened??? College kids? Devil worshippers? Just accidently crawled up in there and died on it’s own? Hummm??? Strange, indeed. Now, someone will say why did you say college kids or devil worshippers? I’m just throwing out thoughts of where a dead goat could have come from. Just an odd place to find one wouldn’t you think?

6:05a.m. EMS is responding to Pleasant Valley to a 20+ y/o female, she is lying down and the dispatcher is whispering and sounds sleepy or something, originally he told EC unit to signal 6 him (call), do you think that maybe they think that we think they think we are listening? I thought ALL police agencies had strong coffee on tap!

Ok, it’s currently 10:52p.m. and there is a lot going on…….

Around 10p.m. EMS was asked to respond to but stage on Hamilton Road, until a cop got on scene to see what was going on. Then they called out First Responders and EMS told dispatch to notify St. Claire that they were coming in with a full code/trauma code.

EMS responding to Reynolds Road to a male confused and doesn’t know his surrounding. He was in the hospital yesterday for the same complaint and they can’t figure out what the problem is.

Yesterday cop responded to a male passed out in the parking lot of Jack Roe Insurance.

While heading out to the shopping center with my aunt and her poodle, (see recent comment section about this), they were just hooking up one tan/beige car to a wrecker and Fire Truck, Fire/Rescue Truck were there along with a city cop, some guy was putting down that dry-all? or whatever it’s call to soak up spills from accidents. It was just as you come out of the entrance off 60 to Buffalo Wild Wings, Subway, Christian Bookstore, etc. That’s another bad spot because people try to pull out from the Post Office and shoot straight across to the other side.

While driving around 12:30p.m.? I got a phone call on my cell alerting me to two subjects in Wal-Mart parking lot fighting with each other and armed with knives. Since I was already headed that way, I kept going and pulled over 4 times for city cops running signal 9. As I was at the light at Wal-Mart waiting to turn in, all the cops headed down Bratton Branch. That’s all I know. I have no idea if it’s related in any way, shape or form but just as I walked into Kroger, a female employee was going out the door crying and said something to a fellow worker. All I heard of the conversation was, “were killed”.

To the lady at the CoffeeTree Bookstore that’s a faithful Scanner Scoop reader, thank you for asking how I was doing. I appreciate that. I literally couldn’t get words out of my mouth at my worst, so I ‘think’, fingers crossed I’m on the mend since I did get that “adrenalin junkie” feeling back when the cop cars went by and before it was like, so what? Don’t know, just praying things will get back on track. Hurricane Fay, of course, is churning in the Atlantic/Gulf and hubby dearest will be flying back on Sept 1st and will be changing planes in Dallas! YIKES!, so kinda worried about that. If anyone hears any thing else about the guys fighting with knifes, etc., feel free to put it on here. By the way, again to the lady at the CoffeeTree Bookstore, I forgot the CAT carving I sat down! POO! However, after dropping several hundred for new glasses this morning, then wiper blades, oil change, Kroger, Bookstore, with the impending hurricane in the gulf, I filled the car all the way up with gas until it threw up, I can’t afford to PAY ATTENTION!

Around 9:59p.m. call came in from MSU for a signal 9 run to ADUC. A student fell from the atrium to the floor before. I think that’s 3 stories isn’t it. Will update later.—10:21p.m. UPDATE EMS en-route to St. Claire signal 9 with male. 26 foot drop to the concrete floor.—UPDATE—fell while trying to slide down the 3rd floor railing? Ah, not to be unsympathic but kinda reminds me of a hillbilly joke where they said a redneck’s last words: “Hey Bubba, hold my beer and watch this!”. I do pray for a full recovery, of course, it’s just college as usual, it seems. I must have missed out, I went there and actually attended classes and studied, no sororities, no clubs, etc. Go figure. Anyway, prayers for him to recover quickly. I’ve got a funny feeling some one is going to critize this postings but that is my feelings and that is also why I kept the comments closed on the scanner scoop. Hopefully, one will read this and understand my ’style’ of writing and it doesn’t come off as it would if I were speaking to you.

Regarding the motorcycle death in Menifee Co., a few days ago….the mother of a person directly involved told me today that there were 2 groups of riders for this benefit and someone told one of the riders in the first group that his father needed him. They didn’t tell him his father was killed. He turned around on his motorcycle and headed back and he got killed also. I am only repeating what she told him and as I said it came straight from someone at the scene and that’s all I can tell you, call it heresay, or whatever. It may already been known but I just heard it. If true, that’s so sad.
