My wife works at

Senior High School and a teacher there, Brian Johnson, told her about a dinner theater down in
South Carolina that he was involved with.  This past Easter weekend, my wife and I decided to drive down to watch him perform in the show “Fishes and Loaves”.

Brian is absolutely inspiring in the role of Jesus!  It was tremendous!  We can’t tell you how much we enjoyed it…never have the parables of Jesus been brought to life so beautifully!

It would be an ideal event for a family or church group.  I’ll post the contact and show information along with a link to their web site.  Please check it out for yourself.

“With the help of many volunteers, NarroWay re-built the amphitheater into a beautiful replica of Old Jerusalem. There they premiered epic biblical productions such as: “Two Thieves & A Savior”; “Jerusalem In Lights”; “The Deliverer”; “Lord of Light”; and “Anno Domini” as well as offering Field Trips and Spotlight Tours. During those years the NarroWay cast grew from zero to 300 talented, professionally-trained volunteers as well as a four-legged cast of camels, donkeys, sheep, goats and two pot-bellied pigs. I picked up a Lexington-Herald Leader this morning.  On page B1 was the headline:

WELFARE PROPOSAL HAS FEW FANS 

Would tie benefits to drug tests!

It seems legislation has been proposed to test welfare recipients for illegal drug use; those found positive would lose their benefits. 

Of course, the modern liberals don’t like it.  That would threaten their voting base, and they know it!  The whole modern liberals political philosophy is to convince people they’re helpless, hopeless and must depend on THEM  (i.e. government) for hand-outs or they’d…they’d…why, they’d just die, I reckon.

Mr. John Rosenberg, former head of the Appalachian Research and Defense Fund in Prestonsburg said:

“Welfare is for the children, and so if you’re doing such a thing you’re punishing the children!”  (always “the children”, eh?…the final refuge of the scoundrel maybe?

Oh REALLY Mr. Rosenberg?  So you think it’s alright for a child to be raised in a home where illegal drug activity is taking place?  That’s just fine with you Mr. Rosenberg? 

Sane people (and people who actually cared about “the children”) might think it’d be a good idea to get these children out of such an unhealthy environment.  But children don’t vote do they?  

And before someone goes all “sop eyed” on me and starts trying to say “What are we supposed to do with the children?”  That’s a cop-out and you know it.  Have you looked at the requirements for adoption lately?  MY GOODNESS…if our parents would have had to meet the same requirements, most of us would never have been born.  They’re ridiculous and designed (once again) for political reasons and NOT what is best for “the children”.

The ACLU (of course) filed suit against the state of Michigan in 1999 to stop
Michigan from continuing with a similar plan.  Said it was “unconstitutional”!

Oh REALLY Mr. ACLU?  So you think it is perfectly alright for a man working to provide for his family to be tested for drugs…but someone who’s taking money from that working man should be allowed to continue doing so even if they’re breaking the law?  THAT’S CONSTITUTIONAL Mr ACLU? 

That’s utterly ridiculous.  Of course, I think State Rep. Melvin Henley, R-Murray identified the real problem.  He said.

“It makes sense to a person who has to work for a living and has to undergo drug testing and who sees people on welfare who don’t have to abide by any rules.”

Of course it makes sense Mr. Henley…and that’s the problem—for modern liberals like Mr. Rosenberg, the ACLU, and the Lexington Herald.  The LAST thing they want is something that makes sense and helps the working man; those people are in this business for power—and they’re not going to let a little thing like common sense get in the way of their vote buying.

The modern liberals and the so-called democrats in government always find themselves making these dumb arguments…I don’t think they fooling anyone, though.

And I could also understand it if they were resisting tyranny by the “religious right”…I’d actually join in with them to help—because, best I understand it (and I’ve been told) that the Holy Ghost is a perfect gentlemen…He won’t go where he’s not invited.

I think it’s safe to say that God does not want anything forced on anyone…He wants willing obedience (again, best I understand it).

So I’m not sure exactly what the “Winter Holiday” crowd hope to accomplish.

But apparently this is not a new concern.  According to the World Almana and Book of Facts, 2004, a Rev. M.R. Watkinson, of
Ridleyville, PA was concerned about this.

On Nov. 13, 1861, he wrote to Secy. of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase. “From my heart I have felt our national shame in disowning God as not the least of our present national disasters.”  He suggested we “recognition of the God Almight in some form on our coins.”

But it wasn’t an easy thing to make happen…it was started, stopped, started and stopped again.  But finally, in 1955 Congress ordered the recognition that Rev. Watkinson desired.  All our money was printed with our national motto:

“In God We Trust!”

The only way modern liberals can claim success in any endeavor—is to change the meaning of success.

Forty percent of our high school graduates are unable to read or do simple math proficiently.

And even sixty percent of those require remedial classes—costing their parents thousands of extra dollars—if they hope to achieve in college.

Yet it’s considered a “success” to the modern liberal.

That’s the way it will be with national health care, too.  Our choices will be whittled away…there will be shortages and great inadequacies…and it will ALWAYS need more money.

But it will be declared a ringing success by the likes of C-BS, the Lexington Herald-Leader—and probably Sally Field…lol.

Yessireee bob, everybody gets a band-aid and an aspirin and evvvvvvverybody’s happy!

By the way…I’m not attacking the true professional teacher, here—but the true professional teachers already know this; you NEA-kool-aid-drinking-multicultural-pluralism-nonsense-propagating “teachers” out there…well, I can’t do much for ya!

And it’s like that with ALL their issues…Dan Rather’s memo, the recent fake soldier diaries, ALL of it is simply hogwash. 

Every single issue they tout can be poked plum full of holes…yet they still go right on touting’em.  Global warming…abortion…social security…universal health care…evolution…it’s ALL designed to control and harm mankind—and they can’t be honest about ANY of them.

Please don’t be fooled by their stated “concern” for the poor, or the weak, or the little guy.  Surely you can see this yourself in the Plame story?

You had a diplomat (NOT a trained surveillance gatherer) with a political agenda sitting in a hotel lobby drinking tea with other diplomats—and then coming back and saying that the British intelligence agency had it all wrong about
Iraq trying to obtain yellow cake.  The British still stand by their story, by the way.

Of course Armitage didn’t do anything wrong—Valerie simply WAS NOT covert; her family knew she worked for the CIA, her friends knew, her mailman knew—heck, even her hair dresser knew for sure.

So why is the “Bush boys” wrong for making sure people knew what kind of character Joe Wilson was?  He was writing letters to the editor saying Bush lied about the intelligence. 

Ah well, Dave.  It all comes down to whether or not we want to be honest with ourselves.  The people calling themselves “democrats” nowadays are just the latest reincarnation of socialists who want to control us, elitists who think they’re smarter than us, and people who dislike mankind.

If anyone out there thinks this isn’t the case, then I invite you to pick an issue and we’ll see. 

Remember when those so-called democrats, the media, and those flakes at moveon.org and Air
America were foaming at the mouth because Plame had been “outed”.  They wanted heads to roll—and they had feverish dreams of that head being Rove’s, Cheney’s, or even—ihopeihopeihope—Bush’s himself.

Wilson and Plame were crying on every shoulder they could find about their lives being endangered, careers destroyed—oh it was just tooooo painful; all during the election cycle, of course.

But when it turned out it was one of their own—good old lefty Dick Armitage—they never let out another peep about that.  Even the wikipedia entry about Plame barely mentions Armitage and I don’t think it makes it clear HE was the one who gave Novak the name.

This is just another example of how dishonest the modern liberals are…they’re that way about abortion, about global warming, about social security, about health care; in fact, I can’t think of a single issue that they’re honest about.

I do blame the media quite a bit…newspapers like the Lexington Herald-Leader are a disgrace…they could rip candidates like Clinton and Edwards to shreds if they wanted to. But they have an agenda that has nothing to do with honesty and freedom.

But, ultimately, the responsibility lies with us as individual voters, we HAVE to believe in freedom, be honest with ourselves and consider things logically—and if we vote in people like Clinton, or McCain, or Edwards, then we’ll deserve what we get.

I don’t suppose I should be surprised that the Lexington Herald-Leader managed to find a narrow-minded, blinkered individual to present what THEY want to present.  And I suppose I should be even less surprised that they found this narrow-minded, blinkered individual in the field of “social studies”—after all, that particular field of “studies” is absolutely FILLED with such individuals. And they found a perfect match with a Mr. William Turner of

Berea
College.

On Monday, August 13^th, the Lexington-Hearld Leader ran a front page story that featured my native county.  It seems that Magoffin is tied with a county in
Iowa as being the “whitest” county in the nation.

This prompted Mr. Turner—who was recently appointed to an endowed chair in Appalachian studies at

Berea
College—to say:

“A county like that needs to do something, if no more than import lecturers and programs, to introduce people to the fact that you are living in a very unreal world here”.

Oh reeeeeeaaaaaalllly, Mr. Turner.  Are you suggesting no one in Magoffin travels anywhere?  Are you suggesting we can’t read?  Are you suggesting we can’t comprehend what we see on T.V.?  Are you suggesting that we’re so ignorant up here in these backwoods that we couldn’t possibly understand the “real world” unless it was explained to us by a minority?

Would YOU be considered to live in the real world if you had never met an Aborigine?  Or a citizen of the U.A.E.? Or a citizen of
Taiwan?  How about a Chamorro? Or a Samoan?  Or someone of pure Hawaiian descent? I have…and still, my world is no more or less “real” than it was as I was being raised

It should astound any clear thinking person to hear such muddled minded thinking from someone given a “chair” in any program.  But then again, any clear thinking person will realize this was from a “social studies professor” and probably won’t be astounded at all.

The real irony is that Mr. Turner is promoting something he’d never admit to; Mr. Turner is promoting racism…pure and simple.

The whole intent of people like Mr. Turner and those who jabber about multiculturalism is to try to devalue the concept of the individual…to place people in some category as if they were merely an “item” or organism to be classified.

A clear thinking individual—ESPECIALLY someone who has devoted a significant portion of their lives studying social issues—should see that the whole concept of “culture” should just die.

Last year’s Perseid shower was somewhat of a dud because the moon’s glare washed out many of the faint meteors. This weekend’s meteor shower coincides with a new moon, which means the skies will be dark and perfect for viewing meteors.

Unlike other celestial sightings that require a telescope or binoculars, the best way to watch a meteor shower is with the naked eye.

Yet all I’ve ever seen offered as proof is “I can look out my window” or “the traffic is so bad on 32”.

An opinion on a matter is perfectly fine, of course; but as reasonable, logical people shouldn’t we at least TRY to base our opinions on observable facts?

So, I’m asking both of you, what evidence can you present that the world is over-populated?

The reason I’m bringing this up today is because in the 26 Jul issue of the Lexington Herald-Leader, barfoonists Joel Pett had a little funny that said things like terrorism, war, poverty, hunger, disease, immigration, greenhouse gases, species extinction, ocean and forest degradation could ALL be stopped by the use of birth control.

Anybody with a lick of sense (and has paid attention) has known for some time that Mr. Joel Pett is more than a few bricks short of a load…lol.

Dave, Kat, there is something sinister about all this and we need to understand it—if we care about people, that is.

What do you think all these over-population yahoos like Paula WANT to happen? Do you think they’d settle for voluntary birth control? Are they spending their time, energy, and money to provide “under-privileged” women birth control—AS OPPOSED to wanting to spend MY money to do it? (Remember, I’m the one who knows there is no over-population problem—so why should my money be spent on something I know is bogus?)

No…they don’t want a voluntary birth control situation—they’ve got that already and in their mind, it isn’t working. What they WANT is governmental policies that decides who has children…and when they have them.

It is a foolishness that needs to be addressed and exposed for the foolishness that it is.

So, I ask you, my friends, what proof do you offer that the world is over-populated?
