THURSDAY JUNE 24-REMEMBER AN ELEPHANT DAY STOP THEIR SUFFERING AT CIRCUS’

There’s a day for moms, a day for dads, and even a day for grandparents—so why not a day for elephants? This Thursday, June 24, 2010, is “Remember an Elephant” Day!
We need YOU to remember that elephants used in circuses are beaten with sharp bullhooks, electro-shocked, whipped, and chained for up to 100 hours at a time in order to force them to perform tricks that are confusing and unnatural to them. Elephants never forget the cruel beatings that they endure and the years that they spend trapped in isolation—and they need your help.
On June 24, tie a string around your finger and wear it all day. When people ask you what the string is for, tell them about the elephants who are suffering in the circus. Remind your friends, family, and coworkers that every single ticket purchased for a circus that uses animals funds cruelty. Encourage them to join you in remembering elephants on this very special day (and every day!).

Don’t tell me it doesn’t happen all the time. I’ve seen the video’s and the smaller circus’ are the worst because they have less to lose.
