KAT’S SCANNER SCOOP MON-SUN DEC 14-20TH/UPDATED SUN 9:59P.M.

Person called 911 and stated that they were coming out of Kroger? and 2 people just about knocked them down running to a white PT Cruiser and told the driver to GO! GO! GO!. Younger male and female with an older man driving. They felt that maybe they had shoplifted or something. Unable to locate.
Haven’t heard much going on today other than transfers, etc. Trying to clean house before Mr. Kat, arrives for Christmas.
Does anyone know if the baby from the crash last night is ok?
MON: 4:35p.m. Additional cops were asked to respond to 519/60 for taking individuals to the pokey. Cops arrested at least 4? I heard of. One with an outstanding warrant, other’s suspended, etc. Does Rowan County have an actual ‘patty wagon’?
MON: 7:31p.m. 2 male and one female lodged in the pokey, drugs, alcohol intoxication, etc.
MON: 7:32p.m. 911 hang-ups up Christy Creek. Female heard crying in the background. Caller originally said they wanted to report a cell phone stolen. Dispatcher attempted to call back several times with no success.
MON: 11:41p.m. 100 unit reported that a search warrant had been executed on Barber Road just off Dry Creek and 3 were in custody. 100 unit had 2 and KSP had one en-ROUTE to the pokey.
MON: 11:50p.m. EMS called to Wildwood Trailer Park on McBrayer Road to a 40+ y/o female, possible overdose. KSP is leaving post to secure scene.
TUES: 2 cops and some other individuals finally gave up trying to find a deer in the Bluestone area. Deer had reportedly been shot. I thought I saw in the paper that shooting deers ended in November? As if anyone cares.—just got an reply on Blackberry saying that ‘they too’ wished deer season was over, so I assume it isn’t.
TUES: 12:25a.m. 10-45 in front of the liquor part of Wal-Mart. Full size pick-up needs to be towed from the scene.
TUES: Around 1:25a.m. Male lodged in the pokey for receiving stolen property over $300.00.
TUES: 1:30a.m. 2 dopey’s in the pokey. Both were lodged on manufacturing meth. Good job! 2 more bite the dust…for now.
TUES: Afternoon, a few EMS runs. Female having chest pain, requesting non-emergency transport with no lights/sirens.
TUES: 6:05p.m. Units responding to the parking lot of Save-A-Lot. Several nuts getting ready to rumble. Some drunks left in a vehicle it was said and one was thought to have a weapon.
TUES: 6:20p.m. Cop pulled a vehicle over on Dry Creek, he said at “The End of Time Church”. It’s “The End Time Harvest Church”. Made me laugh. I’m not the only one that twist their words around.
TUES: Cop hauled in a lass from an apartment. Another in the pokey. Exactly how many can that jail hold?
WED: morning, EMS went after a female that was seen in the ER yesterday and her primary wants her to return to the ER.
WED: Another one in the pokey. Is there an epidemic?
WED: And yet another one lodged in the pokey. Where are they putting them all? Seriously.
WED: Around 1:40p.m. EMS responded to the Carter County line but KSP was on scene and people refused transport.
WED: 1:58p.m. Report of 2 males in their 40’s stole a lizard. Both on foot, one with a spider tattoo, the lizard will love that, and another with a Carthart jacket on.—4:06p.m. Cops are still out on Bridge Street trying to track down Lizzy the Leaping Lizard.
WED: 2:04p.m. Cop responding to Fazoli’s to a Hit and Run. Owner unsure if hit and run occurred at St. Claire or Fazoli’s.
WED: 4:25p.m. EMS responding to Pettit Road to a 77 y/o male complaining of severe weakness.
WED: Another one in the pokey for driving a suspended.
WED:11p.m. EMS responding to an 80+ y/o female at Northfork Mobile Home Park on 32. General weakness and just not feeling well.
THURS: 1:13p.m. Fire alarms going off in multiple locations at the old Spring Grove Dairy.
THURS: 7:35p.m. All 100 unit’s (Morehead City Police), were told to report to the courthouse parking lot ASAP. Then a few seconds went by and it was added…’non-emergency’.
THURS: Cops, including KSP had to respond to the 3rd floor of St. Claire. A daughter was ordered to stay away from her mother and the mother was made a ward of the state. Daughter was trying to take mother out of the hospital.
FRI:12:59a.m. Dang! Somebodies on an Ale-8 pop machine runs. Several businesses from White’s Ready Mart to Stephen’s Car Lot, to Coast to Coast, money boxes taken, etc. S.O. Unit checked Coast to Coast on US60 East about an hour ago and it wasn’t broken in to. Now at 2:20a.m. check it has been. He also checked the Hayes Crossing/Haldeman Fire Department and they were ok. At 1:14a.m. Janitorial service heard something outside the courthouse and saw someone heading towards NAPA, etc. 1:17a.m. Key’s? grocery said the Ale-8 machine was broken into there also and he said there was considerable damage. Several units searching around the MSU football field, etc., and turned out to be a person they have frequent dealing with. He had nothing to do with the machine break-in’s.
FRI: 1:39a.m. Cop stopped an vehicle on 519 for driving on the wrong side of the road. Elderly male. Cop advised him it might be more beneficial to drive on the right side of the yellow line.
FRI:10:07a.m. Seems like everyone is at the courthouse awaiting the decision on time to be spent in prison for the woman they found guilty yesterday of killing her husband. —8 years recommended with parole eligible after 20% served or 1 1/2 years.
FRI: 12:13p.m. Units responding to Poppy Mountain to a burglary in progress.—-person had permission to pick up cans from around the area but was pilfering in around the house and garage and didn’t realize someone lived there. Everything is fine.
FRI: A few 10-25’s here and there.
FRI: 2:10p.m. Male and female shoplifters at CoffeeTree Books. Stole a necklace and other items and tried to return them for cash. Possible name on the female.
FRI: 3:19p.m. A vendor at Peddler’s Mall has reported several items stolen and is doing an inventory before having a cop come out to make a report.
FRI: 7:45p.m. Another bites the dust with a suspended license from Ohio.
SAT: It’s currently 2:42a.m. Vehicle needed a wrecker to get out of the ditch on Hogge Town Hill. Rescue Squad is trying to get to a female in a truck on 174. KSP couldn’t get there because of the snow.—no one able to locate a truck or woman.
SAT: Currently 6:12a.m. Injury accident near Pond Lick.
Two ambulances transported 2 subjects to St. Claire and then both EMS units went to UK with patients. Search and Rescue are out in the Pond Lick area at this time looking for another subject from this accident. Roads are impassable in some places and they are going to try to go up the Big Brushy side to look.—-found driver unhurt.
SAT: Currently 9:59a.m. EMS and other units responded earlier to a head-on collision near Johnson Church of God. One female with multiple injuries and respiratory distress. 17 y/o male not injured. Units responding to a tree/line sparking, trying to get up the Big Perry side for that. EMS went after another patient that had accidentally taken too much of their med’s. —- One patient on Kimberly Lane just released from the hospital got home but couldn’t get in the house because of the snow and EMS helped them in the house.
SAT: Currently 12:05p.m. EMS responding to a female off Eden Hollow Road, electric is out and she is on O2 and does not have equipement to hook up portable.——- Pole on fire on Nicholas Branch—– Other Rescue units back on Pond Lick Road, unknown why. Didn’t hear why.
SUN: 9:35p.m. EMS responding signal 9 to a 27 y/o female having trouble breathing, with pain in chest and back.—returned to St. Claire signal 9.

Well with all the “Punked” type stuff going on and teens with video phones you might wonder sometimes if it some mischief afoot. Shoplifters usually are cool customers that do not make any scene when leaving other than walking briskly away with their thrill/rush of Adrenalin that is the fix cleptomaniacs crave, the thrill of getting caught is half the game.
