Did I misunderstand what was going on over the scanner?
It seems as though someone who has absolutely no authority to do so
was trying to demand that the Fire Department disregard.
I might have misunderstood the situation there, but after the Chief said to
go ahead and roll an engine for traffic control, it sounded like the other guy
    kept demanding that they disregard.
Could that have been the guy that drives the little car that has EMS written on it?
And if so, just what authority does he think he has over the Fire Department?
Or the Rescue Squad for that matter?
Isn’t he one of those who insist the Rescue Squad signal 8 (disregard) after they have trucks rolling?
That isn’t the same guy who come here demanding that ambulance runs were not included as a part of the Scanner Scoop is it?

I mean his orders to people who he seemingly thinks he has some kind of authority
over with repeated "signal-8"’s and "Disregard" confused the ambulance driver so
badly that they had to confirm whether they should disregard (signal-8 or proceed?).

Don’t take my word for this,
It should be on a multi-track tape of emergency communications kept at city hall.
A request of public records under The Freedom Of Information Act should get you
your very own copy of the radio communications during that car on it’s top accident.

Good to see you back Kat!
Hope you are feeling much better.

Wonder why it was so hard to locate our County Judge/Executive this morning?
He of all people should have a key to the old courthouse, seeing how the county
    still owns it and all.
Doesn’t the county still pay the bills on the building (directly or indirectly, either way)?

I heard what the same thing nighthawk. I’m assuming you are talking about the incident involving the car on it’s top at the entrance to Poppy Mountain? I heard a back and forth discussion of ’signal 8′, and ‘continue on for traffic control’ because it was in that curve. I didn’t know what was going on but there was a little struggle going on for awhile. Good thing it wasn’t far from 1400 base.

I don’t know if "I’m back", just giving it a try and seeing how it goes. Thanks for everyone’s help and please continue to pitch in if you heard something. Thanks.

nighthawk, if ANYONE should have a key to the old courthouse I would think it would be a certain person I will see at church tonight. I figured, he’d be on the list somewhere. Oh well, no big deal.
