By dave • Sep 16th, 2007 • Category: ArticlesGateway House Homeless Shelter serves Bath, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, and Rowan Counties as a non-profit emergency shelter that provides housing to homeless individuals or families. One must meet residency requirements and agree to actively work toward securing permanent housing while residing at the shelter. Transients, convicted violent felons, sex offenders, or anyone with pending charges of felonies/misdemeanors that involve any sexual charges or violence, do not qualify and we refer them to another shelter that will accept them.
Gateway House Homeless shelter provides a comfortable, family oriented home setting. Residents receive free personal health care items, non-perishable food items, case management, and moral support from volunteer staff members.
The shelter provides the homeless with a mailing address and services such as money management counseling, budget and savings planning. Our director, Marilyn Smith, coordinates human needs assistance from other non-profits in the area for our residents.
The Charity Parade and Fair donation items for the Gateway House Homeless Shelter are the following items:
White bath towels
White wash cloths
Deodorant
Razors and shaving cream
To donate any of the above mentioned items, please drop them off at the shelter or call the numbers listed above for more information. The Shelter is located at 695 Flemingsburg Road in Morehead and the office is in the basement of the shelter. You can follow the red footprints to the office in the basement between the hours of 8 am to
4 pm, Monday through Friday.
