You??? Protect us? BWahahahahahahaha

By dhunley • Jul 20th, 2007 • Category: Articles

This is carried over from old.rowanreview.com.  It is just tooooo juicy:

It starts out with Kangi asking

“Ok. Who wants what, Liberals who try to protect us from people like Haliburton or those that want Facist conservatistics ways and pass of their ideas as what is appropriate.”

So what is it that modern liberals want to protect us from?  Is it islamic thugs who have been attacking us for 20 years…cutting the heads off innocent people…killed almost 3,000 Americans? Oooooooh Nooooooo…the modern liberal thinks that’s all OUR fault; that if we’d just “play nice” and leave them alone, they’d leave us alone.

Does the modern liberal want to protect us from higher taxes that the government then wastes right in front of our eyes? OH HECK NO…the modern liberal hasn’t seen a tax they didn’t want to increase—or a dollar of your or my money that they didn’t feel they could spend better than we could.

The modern liberal doesn’t have the courage or the wisdom to identify and face real threats—so that have to create imaginary ones like Global Warming, or Haliburton, or “facist conservatistics”.

But I tell ya, it’s HEAVEN HELP the group of people who accept the modern liberals’ idea of “protection”…because in short order, your schools will fail—with almost half your graduating students unable to read or write adequately; your out-of-wedlock birth rate will skyrocket to over 60 percent, drug abuse will become rampant, and a great number of your young men will wind up in prison or dead.

But HEY…the modern liberal will then tell you that this is NONE YOUR FAULT—after all, you’re not smart enough to make good decisions in the first place in their minds.

No, the reason you’re shooting drugs into your veins is because some “evil” corporation is discriminating against you.

They’ll tell you the reason you’re allowing your children to have children is because some “bigot” or “fascist” somewhere is “holding you down.”

Yeah, we “need” the protection of the modern liberal alright! Bwahahahahahaha!

Sheeesh…how delusional can you get?

Here’s the rest of the story, Tech…

Tech, I’ll give you the rest of kangi’s post here…although it has nothing to do with liberals ”protecting” us…lol

It is just sooooo typical of the clueless fantasy world that modern liberals create. I once had hope that most modern liberals had an honest ignorance about the world—because you can change that with dialog and information.

But ooooohhhhh noooooo, the deceitfulness of the modern liberal is deliberate and determined. Want an examples?
Take “47 million uninsured Americans” they constantly harp on. You can point out until you’re blue in the face the errors in this—yet they go right on spouting it.

Some of the errors in this “47 million” number as determined by studying the census data are:

17 million “uninsured Americans” are people who make over $50,000 a year—so they could easily afford health insurance if they wanted it.

Another 14 million are people who qualify for Medicaid or State Children’s Health Insurance Program—but just haven’t bothered signing up.

Another 6 million includes people who are only uninsured for part of the year because they’re changing jobs.
Add to that the millions of illegal immigrants but are included and, suddenly, that whole “47 million” number just disappears—yet they STILL spout that number.

So…the deceit of the modern liberal is deliberate—they havie no desire whatsoever of “helping” or “protecting” people; they don’t like people, they want CONTROL people…and they think socialism will give them this power.

All of this is easy to see IF you believe in freedom, truth, and the value of life.

And now…the rest of kangi’s post.

The Angry Right” uses case studies of right wing psychotics to answer the baffling question: Why are these people so full of rage?
“Since 1968, Republican presidents have occupied the White House far longer than Democratic presidents, and recently Republicans have controlled both houses of Congress as well. In spite of these electoral triumphs, leading spokespersons on the right continue to depict conservatives as an embattled minority. Lashing out at their liberal opponents, sharp-tongued partisan advocates like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Sean Hannity never tire of issuing jeremiads against what they perceive as the inexorable tide of liberal abuses that threatens to overwhelm the Republic. But if Republicans have won the battle at the voting booths, why is the right so angry?
As S. T. Joshi reveals in this incisive profile of twelve leading conservatives, the rage at the heart of the right is fueled by a gnawing sense that conservatives long ago lost the hearts and minds of the American people. Since the F.D.R. administration, conservatives have unsuccessfully opposed legislative and judicial reforms that today are considered so mainstream as to be “conservative.” In effect, yesterday’s liberalism is today’s conservatism, and this has been the direction of social and political change since the age of the Flappers and the Model T.
Examining the writings of such conservative icons as Russell Kirk, William F. Buckley Jr, Phyllis Schlafly, and nine others, Joshi uncovers statements that most people today would consider not just radical but outrageous: • In the 1950s, Russell Kirk opposed Social Security because he said it was “un-Christian.” • In the same decade, William F. Buckley Jr. argued against the desegregation of public schools on the grounds that it would be an infringement of states’ rights (an argument also used a century earlier to defend slavery). • In the 1970s, Phyllis Schlafly declared that women’s liberation is a “disease” and a “homewrecker.” Knowing that these positions are today indefensible, conservative spokespersons have little recourse but to engage in passionate invective that attempts to portray their opponents as extremists. Joshi characterizes the aggrieved lament of conservatives as the last gasp of those who know their ideas will be confined to the dustbin of history.”
Perhaps the radical right is so furious and full of hysteria because they have lost the culture wars. Evolution and modernity make them a cancerous school of fish swimming against the tide of history.
They must now rely on stolen elections and the unceasing Orwellian cudgel of terrorism to accomplish their goals, because otherwise they are Victorians clutching on to their handbags of reactionary platitudes and threats.
Of course, some of the wingers are in it for the money. Coulter, Hannity, Limbaugh and O’Reilly are entertainers, carnival barkers for the GOP who know that the shriller they get, the more dollars they receive. Their value as commodities are in direct proportion to their irrational diatribes against the “liberals,” who happens to be anybody that doesn’t board the corporate gravy train.
Now Phyllis Schlafly, William Kristol and William F. Buckley, these are true believers. They are furious that the world won’t settle back into the 1700s before the American Revolution. These are people who feel much more comfortable in a Monarchy than a democracy.
Why are the people that author S.T. Joshi profiles angry? Because this is the year 2006, not 1706. It’s really that simple.
They are angry because, as hard as they try, they just can’t turn back the clock.

  9. dhunley Says:

Tech, you said you felt “left out” and gave us a link. That link was about the “14 million hungry children” in America. Any logical person can determine this is false.

There are only about 20 million children in American under the age of 18. So…that would mean more about 5 out of 10 children in America are hungry. DO YOU KNOW EVEN ONE CHILD that is hungry? Even here at “ground zero” in the war on poverty? I doubt it…and if you do and you’re not doing something, then I’d consider you an adult who was avoiding his responsibility.

Also, I haven’t forgot your saying I was “splitting hairs” when I pointed out the falsehoods in that documentary about Wal-Mart. Tech, something is either true or not…and it’s not splitting hairs when you point out something that isn’t true.

This sounds like Dan Rather’s “fake but accurate” memo that got him fired.

Also, you’ve ignored my challenges to your “theories” so often, I figure it’s a waste of time addressing them. Do I need to remind anyone about Ohio? Michigan? Or your…what was it?…Seventh tower nonsense?

Like I’ve said before Tech, I consider you an ally of sorts since you definitely distrust the government—and that can’t be a BAD thing…lol.

However, I think your ability to analysis things leaves a lot to be desired.

Add to these things are the troublesome remarks you’ve made about Israel (the ONLY truely democratically elected government amid cesspools of despots, tyrants and religious nuts…and a nation with foes who encourage suicide bombings, the killing of innocent people, and maniacs who constantly threaten to “throw them into the sea”)…and I find myself a little concerned about your outlook on life.

There are a lot of jews that don’t like the way the country is run and don’t think it was legitimately created whether or not Amanjinadad said anything about shoving the zonists out of Yerusalahyim or wiping them off the map or what ever translation you choose to believe.

THEY built a wall with U.S aid and loan guarantees and sweetheart military hardware deals, and outright loan forgivings and such.

    but
We cant have a wall to stop the influx from a government that wont take care of economy or its poor, so the states are left to and drive down wages in the process with government subsidies and brokers .

I have never been able to find a job in this town for $7.50hr with dental and housing and such.
Neither has my “significant other” before or after taxes.
That is whether or not we list our degrees.

BUT the “others” get a jobs at the sawmill at more per hour than a local, and that was years ago
that it was $7.50 per hour plus benifits.
I have heard all the junk about nobody wants
to work than part time to stay on the draw and
    such.

If the pay was $20 an hour for 40 a week
    with benifits and sick days
and that might change a few
    minds.

Find me a job that puts me out of the poverty level
in this town after taxes and I’ll apply.

Right now I’m thinking I’d take home more
if I stand out at wall mart with a open guitar case
and a cardboard sign that says:

Will work for more “money” than illegal aliens

    and on the flip side

Will work for “MONEY” that the govt. cant take.

More Americans hungry, homeless in 2006- mayors

    By Lisa Lambert

12/19/06 — – WASHINGTON, Dec 14 (Reuters) - More Americans went homeless and hungry in 2006 than the year before and children made up almost a quarter of those in emergency shelters, said a report released on Thursday by the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

“The face of hunger and homelessness right now … is young children, young families,” said the conference’s president, Douglas Palmer, the mayor of Trenton, New Jersey.

The survey of 23 cities found civic and government groups received, on average, 7 percent more requests for food aid in 2006 than in 2005, following a 12 percent jump in 2005.

Requests for shelter rose by an average of 9 percent in 2006, with requests from families with children rising by 5 percent. More than half the cities said family members often had to split up to stay in different shelters.

As the numbers who could not buy their own food grew, more than half the cities, including Los Angeles and Boston, said groups spread resources farther by giving less food to individuals or cutting the number of times people could receive help. The group estimated 23 percent of requests for emergency food assistance simply went unmet.

Franklin Cownie, the mayor of Des Moines, Iowa, who worked on the study, said he was troubled that more than a third of the adults asking for food aid were employed.

“If you look at the data, you’ll find folks that have jobs that don’t have enough money to feed themselves,” he told reporters.

People remained homeless for an average of eight months in 2006, the report said. Trenton had the longest span, with those in poverty spending an average of 22 months in cars and shelters or on the street.

The survey relied on census statistics along with data that city officials collected from local agencies.

Calling the report “not so much science as perception,” the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness, which includes state and federal agencies, said in a statement nearly 30 cities were reporting reduced homelessness due to a federal program run in partnership with the Conference of Mayors.

It said the Bush administration was also working to help connect homeless people to government agencies and private aid groups.

In the mayors’ report, Cleveland was one of the cities that saw demand for food assistance drop in 2006. Officials said it was still much higher than in 2000, before the city experienced an economic downturn. From 2000 to 2005, the number of people using food stamps, or federal subsidies to cover groceries, increased there by 29 percent.

Food stamps and other public nutrition programs account for 60 percent of the U.S. Agriculture Department’s spending. The USDA said almost 11.2 million U.S. households received food stamps in 2005.

Congress is expected to consider changes to the food stamp program as part of broad-ranging agriculture legislation in 2007. (Additional reporting by Charles Abbott)

  13. TechKnomen Says:

:-?? more government accounting? . “The USDA said almost 11.2 million U.S. households received food stamps in 2005.”
that would be 22million children if the average was 2 children per household but the article dont say do hit?

    On the Walmart “The High Cost of Low Price” you focus on the hardware store and largely ignor the rest of the points. People do the same thing with the bible, find something they see as a flaw or “that cant be true” and throw the baby out with the bathwater;
You deny that there is any merit to the several lawsuits that have been won on pressuring people to work off the clock, locking illegal aliens in overnight, and union busting as well as the other issues like coaching the under paid workers on how to take advantage of government dole programs to be able to afford to work at Wal Mart?

The ex-managers that were interviewed on the secret passwords
used to cheat the working poor out of overtime by transferring it to
the next payperiod in the computer? Why didn’t wal mart sue them
for slander if they lied? Should have been a slam dunk since wal mart
got so many billions for the more expensive lawyers, the only reason
I can see is they would prefer to stay out of the press and avoid
anyone else watching the film to “decide for themselves” what is plausable or exaggerated. The hardware and Grocery stores did not
get tax incentives from the city and county to locate their store or rebuild it in their local tax jurisdiction now did they. That seemed to me the point of the hardware store and grocery store segments not whether some other chain came in later and reopened.

I suspect that may happen here as well, some local that ain’t out to make a fortune and knows their way around the hardware buisness may eventually re-open a hardware/plumbing/bike/lawn equipment downtown store. Heck It would be nice just to have a place to get keys made without having to go out of town to wal mart(6+miles round trip from the hospital) any investors? I am available from 11-3 wed thur &sat and sunday for bike and small engine repairs and some sales floor work, during lunch shift, I aint too bad at making keys either, I might even take less than $20/hr as a contrator if I can set my own hours LOL
of course I’d be working without a net or a socialist insecurity number or filling out any dang w-2 or 1099s or somesuch bureaucratic BS.LOL?

The lesson: the leakers will suffer and leaks can be plugged.
    http
    ://www
    .dissidentvoice.org/Mar07/Petersen13.htm

Despite this, there have been plenty of leaks about 9-11 and the “war on terrorism”: US officials such as former UNSCOM inspector Scott Ritter, former counter-terrorism chief Richard Clark, and former treasury secretary Paul O’Neill were all scathingly attacked after coming forward. In Britain, intelligence employee Katherine Gun, BBC reporter Andrew Gilligan, and BBC executives Greg Dyke and Gavyn Davies lost their jobs. Ministry of Defense employee Dr. David Kelly wound up dead. Obviously, leaking carries a high price. Even the exposure of plagiarized and “sexed-up” dossiers and the condemnatory Downing Street Memos fizzled. None of these leaks had major impact. Conclusively, it is not enough merely for information to leak. The leaked information has to reach enough people, and more importantly, that information needs to be credible and meaningful to people. Leaked information that reaches too few people or is viewed with utmost disbelief has little or no effect.

Most importantly, people need to care. The “official” 9-11 story has a large share of doubters, and yet it has still hardly made a dent in the political landscape or caused harm to the Republican Party.

How is one to assess Russo’s revelations? The usual method is to question what a person stands to gain for speaking out. In Russo’s case, certainly not money and fame. He was already well-to-do and well known. The filmmaker says he even turned down membership in the CFR, having no interest in “enslaving the people.” In fact, Russo has already paid a price in being ostracized from Hollywood. He says he is motivated by a “sense of conscience” and a “sense of justice.” This selflessness gives Russo credibility.

Aaron Dykes, a videographer present at the taping of the interview, vouched for Russo: “I can say that Aaron Russo is a very open person; his body language and tone convey that of a person being completely honest, as one watching the interview can also witness. At the same time, it is one man’s word against another, so I can’t say that it is hard evidence in a court of law, without other supporting evidence. However, the Russo family has pictures with Nick Rockefeller and their relationship is otherwise established.”

But Russo’s source, Nicholas Rockefeller, appears to be a most dubious character. [16] Despite this Rockefeller’s dubiousness, according to Russo, he still predicted a 9-11-type “event.”
